Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 28, 2026 · Last updated: March 30, 2026
SoulCast ("we", "our", "us") operates the SoulCast mobile application and its supporting online services. This Privacy Policy describes what information is collected, how it is used, and your choices. By using SoulCast, you agree to this policy.
Content & Community Standards
SoulCast is intended as a general-audience experience. We design the service and AI interactions to be respectful and appropriate: we do not target sexual content, graphic violence, harassment, hate, or illegal activity. User prompts and AI replies are subject to automated and policy-based safeguards. If you believe content violates these standards, contact safety@soulcast.app.
1. Account Model
SoulCast does not require sign-in with a name, email address, or phone number. You use the app as an anonymous guest. We assign a random identifier (guest ID) stored on your device (for example in browser or WebView storage) and send that ID with API requests so we can provide features such as message energy limits and subscription status.
2. Information We Collect
- Anonymous guest ID: A randomly generated ID (UUID) created on your device. We associate it with a server-side record used for app functionality.
- Server-side guest record: We store data tied to your guest ID in our database, such as remaining message energy, daily reset timestamps, ad reward counters, and whether your guest profile has an active Pro entitlement. We do not use this ID to determine your real-world identity unless you separately choose to contact us and provide identifying information.
- Chat messages and character context: When you chat with AI characters, your messages and recent conversation context are sent from the app to our servers so we can enforce safety rules, apply energy limits, and request a reply. Our servers forward the necessary text to an AI inference provider (large language model API) to generate responses. We do not maintain a long-term archive of your full chat history on our servers for ordinary operation; processing is focused on fulfilling each request. Message history may continue to exist on your device until you clear it, restart a chat, delete account data, or remove the app.
- Purchases: Subscription payments are processed by Apple via In-App Purchase. We do not receive your full payment card details. We may store or receive subscription entitlement signals associated with your guest ID or Apple-provided transaction flows as needed to unlock Pro features and restore purchases.
- Technical data: Like most online services, our hosting and APIs may automatically process technical information such as IP addresses, timestamps, and request metadata for security, reliability, and abuse prevention.
3. How We Use Information
- To operate chat, character features, energy, and Pro access.
- To enforce content-safety rules and protect the service.
- To comply with law and respond to valid legal requests.
3a. Auto-Renewing Subscriptions (SoulCast Pro)
SoulCast offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions processed by Apple (In-App Purchase). Subscription details shown at purchase in the app include:
- Product titles: SoulCast Pro — Weekly; SoulCast Pro — Annual (as labeled in the app).
- Length: 1 week (weekly plan); 1 year (annual plan).
- Price: Displayed in your local currency in the App Store purchase sheet (e.g. USD $7.99/week and $39.99/year where applicable); a free trial may apply to the weekly plan where configured.
- Renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Management: Cancel or manage in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
Legal terms: Our Terms of Service describe subscriptions, trials, and billing. Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to the licensed app: Apple Standard EULA.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to run the service:
- AI providers: Portions of your conversation needed to generate a reply are sent to our model API provider under their terms and security practices.
- Infrastructure: We use cloud hosting and database providers (for example serverless hosting and managed databases) that process data on our behalf.
- Apple: In-App Purchase and related App Store processing are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Legal: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of users and the service.
5. Data Retention
Guest records tied to your guest ID remain until you use Delete Account in the app (which requests deletion of server-side guest data) or until we delete data according to operational needs. Local chat content on your device is under your control—uninstalling the app or clearing app data removes local copies. We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes above unless a longer period is required by law.
6. Children's Privacy
SoulCast is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have collected information from a child under that age, contact us and we will take appropriate steps. Users should comply with the age rating and requirements shown for SoulCast in the App Store in their country.
7. Your Rights & Choices
- Delete Account: Use Profile → Delete Account to request removal of server-side data associated with your guest ID and reset local app state. This does not cancel Apple subscriptions automatically—manage subscriptions in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
- Access / correction: Because you use an anonymous guest ID, we may not be able to locate your record without that ID. You may contact us with questions or requests regarding privacy.
- Regional rights: Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (for example under GDPR or U.S. state laws). Contact us to exercise those rights where applicable.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS). No method of storage or transmission is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International Users
Our service providers may process data in the United States or other countries where they operate. By using SoulCast, you understand that your information may be transferred to jurisdictions with different data-protection laws.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy at this URL and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised policy.
